The design is one of John Bailey, of Gem Stone Artist fame’s, patterns. Plus he has specifically designed the pattern for Oregon Sunstone and John calls it the “Jack of Hearts.” The beautiful red color of this piece of rough simply could not be cut into anything other than a bold heart pattern. The clarity of the stone and absence of Schiller makes this gem a real treasure. The stone weighs in at 4.10 carats of eye popping beauty. I must say the gem has one small flaw on the side of the heart, which only helps define the stone’s true identity and is the reason for my pet nickname for the gem. I call this stone my Heart Attack Stone. |
