Oregon Opal 7.95 ctModification of Bob Long's Cut Corner Barion TriangleFaceting by Lisa Elser Out of curiosity I googled Oregon opal and up popped Opal Butte and nearby Hepner Oregon. My Aunt lives in Hepner Oregon and she will soon be receiving a call from me. My boyhood home is two hundred and fifty odd miles down the Colombia River - not so far away. This particular piece of Opal was mined by Derek Lusk, I'm unsure of the exact collection location other than Oregon. Derek now mines mostly Oregon Sunstone, this rough was from a supply of old stock. Expertly fashioned by Vancouver B.C. Gem Artist Lisa Elser, this fantastic opal illuminates a golden glow reminiscent of a Oregon Coast sunset. A fantastic stone and lovely to look at. Lisa reports a small feather towards one of the corners, but I have not been able to find it. If you are interested in this stone, don't hesitate to email or contact Lisa to fashion you a similar gem. |
