Donald Dix is colored gemstone and jewelry collector, gemology student and photographer living in Southern California. Having always been fascinated by colored gemstones, it wasn’t until semi-retirement from the financial services industry that he became passionate about studying, collecting and photographing colored gemstones. His favorite gemstones include ‘visually expressive’ varieties such as sphene, sphalerite and garnet.

He accepts commissions for photographic work of both loose gemstones and jewelry.
