Original Pear Design and Faceting by Stephen Kotlowski
Owned by Uniquely -K- Custom Gem's
I am a well established, but not widely known, faceter in the gem trade. My credits include being a multi-year AGTA Spectrum “Cutting Edge” Award winner–past and present. As well, in 1988, I became the first person to receive certification under the professional category of “Supreme Master Faceter” from the American Society of Gem cutters in Washington DC. I am also an accomplished gem photographer, and I have an expansive collection of high quality photos representing my work, and commissioned stones I have cut for clients.
I am a self taught faceter, having cut my first stone in 1968 while just a teenager. I received a BS degree in Geology from Richard Stockton State College, New Jersey in 1982; and I received a Graduate Gemologist in Residence from the GIA, New York in 1984. I worked for Krementz Gemstones in Newark, New Jersey as stonecutter for a period of three years, before establishing my own business: Uniquely-K-Custom Gems.
Although my faceting practice is predominately directed toward “the trade”, I sometimes accept commissioned work from individuals. Additionally, I have a growing inventory of custom-cut, uniquely designed gemstones that I am pleased to feature on the One World Gemstone website–and more importantly, which I hope to sell! Economic times have been tough these last few years, and outside work has dropped off drastically for everyone in the gem trade. Most of my time has been spent working on commissioned stones, but I am now promoting and featuring my own inventory. Please enjoy my growing selection of amazing gems on these pages
Each and every one of my designs is original and I do not cut designs by other faceters unless requested. Each uniquely faceted gem is created individually.
For those interested in becoming a faceter themselves, I am also an Ultra Tec representative in the New York area.
